Ever since I was young I’ve been obsessed with movies, cartoons, and stories in general. As I’ve grown I’ve found great pleasure in breaking down the specifics of how a story makes its way onto the screen. Here are some attempts at practicing the various techniques and skills needed to work in storyboarding.
Animatics
Escape – An exercise in writing, boarding, and animating our own animatic.
Count Duckula Re-board – An exercise requiring us to choose a clip from a cartoon of our choice and re-board the scene, hopefully improving on the original. It also gave us the chance to practice drawing boards on model.
Storyboards
Mo & Indego – An exercise in boarding a shooting script written by a classmate to their specifications.
Car Chase – An exercise in boarding a car chase sequence and filming based on the boards we’d drawn.
